This Pomegranate Lemon Fizz Cocktail is an easy and delicious holiday recipe; pomegranate and lemon are combined for a cocktail with some pucker!
How I love pomegranates, the jewels of the fruit world. So this week, I had to share this Pomegranate Lemon Fizz Cocktail for Friday Cocktails. Talk about easy? It’s so simple and yet so bright and tangy and beautiful and delicious and holidayish and…and well, it’s perfect for this season!
I stayed far away from Pomegranates for years; more because of the scuttlebutt about them, not from actual experience.
My daughter used to help a woman she babysat for get ready for her annual holiday party and she always ended up cleaning the pomegranates and they sounded messy and impossible.
But one day I decided to give them a try and really…not that big of a deal…what the heck was all that fussing over?
I’ve now read lots of tips for how to remove the seeds from the shells but for me, nothing works like following the natural separation that’s in each pomegranate.
Take a peek at this post for the best way to clean a pomegranate and celebrate how clean you and your counters will stay through the process! I used bottled juice but I do love having some arils for the garnish. It’s optional but so pretty that you really should try them.
Can I just tell you how much I love the glasses I used for this photo? I have a ton of glassware and I mean a TON but there is always something else I want…it’s an addiction I tell ya!
So I decided I needed some stemless wine glasses. I wanted to use them in a photo shoot for a holiday appetizer so I headed to my usual haunts; ie HomeGoods. There is a new store near me and I was excited to shop there. Well, well, nope.
They have a much heavier concentration on home furnishing and less on kitchen and dining wares so I left empty handed. Except for a rug and two lamps. They got me anyhow!
So when I received some glassware to try out from Drinkware by Taza, I was excited. I would LOVE to have some shatterproof glasses; especially with the holidays approaching and I did like the look of these and well, now I love them.
They look like glass, they’re a nice weight and the shape is perfect. I had to get the photos done that I needed them for because it was a cheeseball and had a limited shelf life but I thought they would be equally attractive with this cocktail…that’s a win win for me that they will work for both wine and cocktails.
These are a keeper; if it’s something you’ve been considering…I definitely can recommend them!
The recipe for this Pomegranate Lemon Fizz cocktail calls for simple syrup and lemon juice. In a pinch for time? Just sub in an equal amount of frozen lemonade.
Depending on how many you’re making, combine how much you would need for both simple syrup and lemon juice combined and then use that amount of frozen lemonade.

Pomegranate Lemon Fizz Cocktail
- 3 ounces Lemon Vodka plain is fine too
- 3 ounces pomegranate juice
- 2 ounces lemon simple syrup see notes
- 4-5 ounces sparkling soda
- Lemon Slices
- Pomegranate Arils optional
- Chill 2 cocktail glasses in the freezer.
- Mix the vodka, simple syrup, lemon juice and pomegranate juice in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake until ice cold.
- Remove glasses from the freezer and fill with ice. Pour the mixture into 2 glasses and top with sparkling soda.
- Garnish with a lemon slice and pom arils.
For Lemon Simple Syrup1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup water
1/4 to 1/3 cup fresh lemon juice depending on how tart you want the cocktail.
- Bring the sugar and water to boil over medium heat and cook until sugar is dissolved. Cool completely.
- Add the fresh lemon juice and chill until ready to use.
