Bourbon, Pomegranate and Ginger Beer Cocktail

Lady in Red - Bourbon, Pomegranate Juice and Ginger Beer Cocktail PIN

A fabulous cocktail from an award winning mixologist; this Bourbon, Pomegranate and Ginger Beer Cocktail is both beautiful land delicious.

Lady in Red Cocktail - Bourbon, Pomegranate and Ginger Beer Cocktail

If you’re like me and have decided to hunker down and avoid the craziness of this ‘Day of Shopping and Angry People During the Season of Love’ know you are not alone! Enjoy this cocktail that evolved from a fun online chat with Makers Mark and @PamelaWiznitzer, a fantastic female mixologist in New York City.

A group of bloggers participated in a Twitter event last Tuesday sponsored by Makers Mark which covered fun facts about the history of women in both the spirits and beverage worlds; sharing some of our own holiday traditions and last but not least making and sipping on the beverage created by Pamela.

We had each received a package with all the necessary ingredients; a fun book about the history of women in the business and yes, my favorite, a beautiful red pashmina scarf. I’m not really the red type…except with my favorite bourbon!

Lady in Red Cocktail - Bourbon, Pomegranate and Ginger Beer Cocktail

We were invited to name this cocktail and Lady in Red was it for me. Not just as a symbol of the color and the history lesson we had experienced but for me…this time of year, that song…let’s just say it was VERY memorable and about time a cocktail was named in honor of a special night.

All in all, lots of fun and a challenge for all of us to skip #BlackFriday and instead join a campaign to make today #RedFriday. Stay home, relax and enjoy this cocktail; it’s perfect. Not too sweet, not too strong…it’s just right! I’m in…how about you?

Can I make this in bulk? How much would that call for?

Certainly; just multiply out the ingredients specified by the number of servings you want to make.

I love the name Lady in Red. It's got a sense of mystery and intrigue and it looks fantastic. I don't live where they have Black Friday any more but even when I did, it was all too much like work.

Thank you...they actually decreed a winner from suggestions and chose Wrapper's Delight. Not sour grapes at all but I just could not go with it; didn't even get it! :)

Oh but I think you are the red type. The colour represents courage, power, strength, passion, determination and love. That sounds like you to a *T* Lovely looking cocktail and great name for it. Wear that red pashmina with pride Barb. I know it will look beautiful on you.

Great looking cocktail! I don't think I've ever combined ginger beer with pomegranate or bourbon before - sounds totally delish. No shopping for us today - in fact we buy almost everything online these days!

#RedFriday it is! Your drink is a much better way to celebrate the season rather than battle the crowds and lines out at the mall. Can we make the next four Fridays #RedFridays too? Why not!

This sounds like a wonderful drink - sorry I did not know about your event-I adore Maker's Mark. It is divine in a Boulevardier, lending as it does, its unique brand of smooth, and bringing out all the best in the Campari and Italian vermouth. Plus, my favorite cocktail, The Hanky Panky, was invented by a woman - none other Ada Colman, "Coley" as she was known, head barman at London's Savoy Hotel's American Bar. Cheers!
