Notes

    1. Store container in a cool, dry spot for up to 1 month.
    2. If you prefer one spice over another, you can adjust the spice amounts to match your preferences.
    3. The flavors truly shine their best if you heat them slightly before storing.
    4. You can use one of those little handheld milk frothers in place of a blender, although I prefer a stick blender to really get the spices mixed in well.
    5. You can make this recipe from whole spices and get an even more robust flavor out of it.

  • Chai Latte

  • 2½ cups milk, plus more foamed milk for topping if desired
  • 2 black tea bags
  • 2 teaspoons maple syrup, plus more to taste
  • Cinnamon stick and ground cinnamon for dusting, optional

  1. Warm the milk on low heat with 1/2 to 1 & 1/2 teaspoons of chai spice mix. Gently simmer for 5 minutes.
  2. Turn off the heat and add the tea bags. Cover and steep for 10 minutes.
  3. Set a fine mesh strainer over a bowl or liquid measuring cup. Add a layer of cheesecloth. Pour the tea mixture through the strainer to remove the spices and tea bags.
  4. Stir in the maple syrup, adding more to taste if necessary. Pour into mugs and top with foamed milk, if desired. Garnish each mug with a cinnamon stick and dust with ground cinnamon, if using.
