A unique Fall version of a margarita but one that really worked too; really delicioius!

Ingredients
For the Pumpkin Spice Syrup:
16ozpumpkin pureeor 15 oz if using canned
½cupbrown sugar
2tablespoonsgranulated sugar
½tablespooncinnamon
⅛tspnutmeg
pinchof salt
1cupswater
For the Cocktail:
4ouncesReposado tequila
2ouncesorange liqueur
4ouncespumpkin spice syrup
Juice from one lime
For Garnish:
Lime Wheels
Instructions
To Make the Pumpkin Spice Syrup
Combine all ingredients in a saucepan set over medium-low heat; whisk together until smooth. Simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove from heat, cool, and strain into a container.
To Make the Cocktail
Chill two cocktail glasses. Rub a lime wedge around the rim and dip the rim into a saucer filled with a combination of equal parts kosher salt and sugar.
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add the tequila, orange liqueur and pumpkin spice syrup. Shake until chilled.
Fill the rimmed glasses with ice and pour the mixture into the glasses.
Garnish with a lime wheel.
Notes
Once the syrup has strained out from the pumpkin, use it for toast or waffles...it's like pumpkin butter!
